Q&A

My musical inspirations range from my grandfather Don Chapel, Johnny Cash, Papa Roach, Eminem, Jelly Roll, NF, 2Pac, Scarface, Killer Mike, and so many others that you can feel their presence and authenticity in their writing and in their performances.

I think ultimately, I just speak my truth. I try to take the pain and often times brutal lessons life has taught me or the experiences I’ve faced, and turn them into something that sheds light on the darker places in our lives, and also points to a new direction – one of authenticity, vulnerability, honesty, and compassion – ultimately a message of hope that resonates with those who have struggled with mental health, depression, suicide, addiction, domestic violence, abuse, and more.

I would plan to take half of the proceeds and donate to NAMI of Davidson County for support of mental health advocacy and crisis help in Nashville Tennessee, and use the rest to finish recording by album “Speak my Truth” along with additional music video content and social media marketing/messaging, in order to bring the album to more ears and powerful visuals to accompany powerful lyrical content of my music.
